Sunday's sermon is indeed powerful and good for kids like your age. Look forward to God's word for you every Sunday ! And, we also thank God for people who take their time to prepare and print the bulletins before Sunday . So Kids, keep the bulletins nicely .. by keeping it nicely and neatly, you will find it easier to look at them again. And most importantly, if you do that, God will smile at you ! :)

THE KINGDOM OF GOD
Rewards of God's kingdom~ SKIDS
Luke 18 : 23 -30
12 August 2007 Sunday Service

This story is about a rich ruler. When this rich ruler was a boy and a kid like you, he knows God's words, respects his parents, a model example to all children. This good boy grew up to be a rich ruler and one day, he met Jesus ! This rich ruler told Jesus about how good he was when he was young and even till he grows up to be an adult. He asked Jesus what other things must he do so that he can get Eternal Life. Oh, surely Eternal Life is sooooo great to get ! And it's also very GOOD !
The rich ruler must have thought that being good is all he needs to get this Eternal Life.....
And being a rich man, he must have lots of money to buy good things right ?


BUT, Jesus said ,
"You still lack 1 thing. Sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

A) Only by living in the Kingdom of God with Jesus can we be fully satisfied.

The rich man became so sad after hearing what Jesus has said.
Actually he wanted to follow Jesus, but he did not want to part with his money.
His money became so important than following Jesus all the way.

But, money can't buy us Eternal life.

Eternal life is life with Jesus forever and ever.

How hard for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God !
Are you like the rich man who owns alot of things ?

Jesus said it was easier for a camel to enter the Kingdom of God than a rich man will.


Camel was the biggest animal people knew
that time.

But, for a camel to go through the needle ?


how is it possible for a camel to go through a needle ?

What is impossible for us is POSSIBLE for God !

B) Our rewards in heaven will be determined by

1. How we take care of the poor
When we see someone in need, let's give to the person.

Because Jesus said that when we do that, we are actually doing it for Jesus himself.

Your father in heaven will surely reward you.

2. What we give up for Jesus' sake


You see that it is difficult for the rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God, because he does not want to give up his precious money.

What are the precious things in your heart ?

One of the things to give up for God will be how you spend your time.


Ask Jesus to help you to sacrifice your precious time for him .

He will surely reward you, if you really want to give up your time for his sake.
That means, you may love watching the television, but when you give up this time to reading the word of God, or do something that will make your time more fruitful , that will make God Smiles ! :)

You can pray :

"Jesus, it is hard for the rich man to enter your kingdom because he did not want to give up all his wealth. So Jesus, help me to willingly and happily follow you. Help me to understand your words. "
